Announcement on the Forthcoming 5th Training Session of China-AALCO Exchange and Research Program on International Law

The 5th Training Session of China-AALCO Exchange and Research Program on International Law (CAERP) will be held from 29 July to 9 August 2019 in Beijing and from 10 to 16 August 2019 in Hong Kong. This year's session will focus on the theme of "Pacific Settlement of Disputes". The following topics will be covered: the Prohibition on the use of force or threat of force, Sanctions, WTO Reform, Dispute Settlement Mechanisms and Procedures, Dispute Settlement Mechanism under the Belt and Road Initiative. Distinguished scholars and practitioners from different legal systems will be invited to give lectures in English. The session will also include visits to relevant governmental bodies and private sector entities. The tentative schedule of the training session will be published in due course.

Each Member State of Asian-African Legal Consultative Organization is invited to nominate one participant to attend this Session. The Government of China will cover training cost for the participants from developing economies (see Annex I for more details). Applicants are requested to fill out the Application Form (Annex II) and submit it to the Chinese Embassies in the applicants' home countries no later than 15 May 2019.
